Harare council power games spill to court

The battle for control of Harare Town House has taken a new twist with the embattled James Mushore taking the Acting Mayor Councillor Christopher Mbanga to court claiming that his dismissal from city council is unprocedural.
Cracks within the MDC-T party continue to widen following the decision taken by Mbanga to send Mushore home citing his appointment as null and void.
Despite the MDC-T executive led by Eddie Cross and Obert Gutu summoning Mbanga to withdraw his decision to dismiss Mushore, the acting mayor could not budge.
Mushore, who has over the past week been locked out of office, is not taking any chances as he is reported to have taken the saga to court.
The suspended mayor Bernard Manyenyeni who has taken the same route is still waiting for judgement.
Sources within Town House said Manyenyeni is alleged to have blocked a forensic audit at Easi Park.
Acting mayor Mbanga confirmed that Mushore has taken him to court, but cannot shed more light on the issue as the matter is now before the courts.
