A number of informal traders operating from Harare's central business district were on Friday night left counting their losses after the city council razed their tuckshops.

The affected traders were operating along Robert Mugabe Way near the Eastgate Mall.

The traders were accused of erecting illegal structures and were not given any chance to move their wares before a bulldozer was used to bring them down.
