Man sets ex-girlfriend's hut on fire, 4-yr-old minor dies

A 34 year old man Plaster Kagoro from Madoka village, Muringazuwa ward in Muzarabani, was remanded in custody by Bindura magistrate for attempted murder and malicious damage of property.
It was the state's case that Kagoro set ablaze his ex-girlfriend's bedroom hut in early September with the intention of killing her.
Kagoro suspected her of sleeping with another man on that fateful night.
The ex-girlfriend escaped with three unidentified people leaving behind a four year old minor who died in the inferno.
Meanwhile, a murder docket is being processed at Mvurwi police for him to appear in the High court at a date yet to be advised.
Police say they are saddened by the rate of murder cases in Mashonaland Central and provincial spokesperson Inspector Milton Mundembe said awareness campaigns are in progress to curb the trend.
