Villagers in the ward 1 and 2 in Gwanda North are living in fear of their lives and that of their domestic animals after they discover two lions spoor in the area over the weekend.
Villagers in Datata, Magedleni and Dambashoko in Gwanda Norh said they were no longer safe when moving in the bush following the lion spoor they saw in the villages.
"We have discovered lions feet marks here and it is no longer safe for one to move around the bush as these lions can possible attack the person," said Nkosilathi Ncube of Datata.
He said he saw the lion spoors along the Datata Magedleni Road on Saturday and it appeared they were two.
Another villager said though they have not yet heard of any attack the bush jungles have done in the area they were living in fear of a possible attack on them or their livestock.
They however said they had not reported the animals to the Zimparks and wildlife Authority but they suspected that the two animals could have broke away from Mgqomo farm where the white farmer used to operate a wildlife sanctuary but locals have since broke in and displaced the animals.
They called for authorities to come into their rescue and hunt for the lions to save their lives from possible danger.
