Define Rich Mr. President!
25 Feb 2017 at 20:41hrs | Views
While giving his birthday speech today, President Mugabe said, "I have not seen a single person who went to America for numerous years coming back rich."
While anything that comes out of VaMugabe's mouth surprises me anymore, I started wondering if our President has a basic understanding of human life or he has reached that stage where his family needs to make the hardest call and send him to assisted living?
Mr. President, being rich has nothing to do with money. Being rich has everything to do with happiness. In America, many people who left Zimbabwe have become rich because they have basic freedoms; including the freedom to be stupid as long as they do not hurt anyone.
Compare this basic freedom to Zimbabwe where it is now a nightmare to drive 300 kilometers to go anywhere in in the country; the stupid road blocks with stupid police demanding money for ridiculous petty offences and their threatening behavior; add toll gates, CIOs, youth militia, and everything else then you expect someone who has tested the freedom of America to come back to Zimbabwe?
Think of every office that is providing service to people being turned into cash cows; did I just say "corruption." It is sad Mr. President that the moment Zimbabweans land back at any Zimbabwean airport, they are fleeced of their hard earned dollars. Go to any government office and you have to pay for anything and any service. Is this your definition of rich?
Being rich Mr. Mugabe is being happy and being content with what you have. Have you ever heard of poor millionaires? Have you ever heard of rich Chefs? You Mr. President are confused and a disgrace to our country, why?
In Zimbabwe, there are millions of young graduates who do not know what it means to hold a job, yet you have Honorable Members of Parliament (MP) who did not complete primary education. What kind of policy formulation do you expect from these MPs?
You Mr. President are exhibiting all signs of dementia by arguing that people do not want you to step down and make room for a successor. I have come to understand that what you mean by people is "you"; you see yourself (Mr. Mugabe) as the people and that is very scary.
If we were to believe you that people are urging you own, why are you arresting everyone who goes public and oppose your continued stay in power? You are not the people; the majority of Zimbabweans want you gone; why not do the right thing and hold a referendum? You can challenge the Zimbabweans living in America to sponsor it then you will understand how rich those people are.
You are the biggest disgrace to your family, to the country, and to the world. No one in their right mind, with an honesty attached to them, with God's honor to consider, and with their integrity intact will lie in our faces and expect us to believe them. I know many people in America are loving what life has given them and are on the road to riches. America is not heaven and there are other people experiencing difficulties but is this not all your fault Mr. Mugabe? If this where that cool here at home, who would want to leave, breaking up their families to live in a foreign land? Yet most of us in Zimbabwe, given an opportunity would go to America tomorrow with the hope of being happy for once in our lives before all is wasted.
