Mnangagwa must embrace Chamisa

THE situation that Zimbabwe finds itself in is very tricky to say the least.

It is a sad reminder of how bad political and economic decisions can ruin an economy.

It also evokes the memories of the 2008 hyperinflationary era.

Already signs of hyperinflation are showing up. We are back in the quintillion era.

What Zimbabwe needs at the moment is a leadership that listens to its people.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa's administration has shown that it has run out of ideas to take Zimbabwe to an upper-middle class economy, even in 2050.

Since he has failed to fulfil his 2018 electoral promises, there is no guarantee that he will if given another mandate in 2023.

Mnangagwa should swallow his pride and embrace MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa. He need his political nemesis more than anyone else if he fancies chances of rescuing the Zimbabwe situation.

It is not too late for Mnangagwa and Chamisa to exchange the Kenyan handshake.

Remember, Chamisa has nothing to lose in this game, as he will always find pleasure in reminding the electorate of Zanu-PF's failures.

Mnangagwa must do some soul-searching and take a look at the people surrounding him to see if they are giving him sound advice. I believe he is being misled.
