Tsvangirai's hypocrisy exposed in Gweru
10 Mar 2015 at 15:17hrs | Views
The heckling of Morgan Tsvangirai, the MDC-T leader, by vendors in Gweru city should be an enlightening experience for him. Citizens in this country are fully conscious of how he slid the nation into mud by calling upon his western counterparts to impose illegal sanctions on Zimbabwe.
These illegal sanctions are biting the ordinary citizens harshly for almost a decade and half now. Their negative impact is that production levels in the economy were affected and industries closed thereby laying off a lot of work force which precipitated unemployment rate which is conspicuous at the moment.
Zimbabweans are currently bedeviled by the effects of sanctions, and Tsvangirai is hypocritically attempting to dupe them so that they believe that he is their saviour, when in actual fact he is the prime source of their problems.
What inundates the local people is the fact that, Tsvangirai had the audacity to team up with our erstwhile enemies of the west in crafting strategies which could be used to sting the basic interests of his fellow citizens. In doing so, he was propelled by selfish motivations to get free cash donations from proponents of regime change agenda. Unfortunately, he could not match enough to continue appealing to his funders. His performance in national polls has been dismal since the formation of MDC in 1999. This frustrated his funders that eventually dumped him after his latest landslide loss to his permanent rival President Robert Mugabe.
Tsvangirai's performance in the Inclusive Government was so poor that he failed to impress the electorate. This gave him a suitable opportunity to prove his worth on the contrary. He is fond of mega-phonic tactics that he uses to shout over people's problems with no alternative policy measures that can replace the ruling ZANU-PF's.
When he dashed into Gweru, he was not equipped with any policies that could be used to improve the lifestyles of the vendors that are struggling daily to make ends meet. Neither did he churn out any programme that would be unrolled to create employment for the youths that are leading desperate lives in this midlands capital.
The most ridiculous aspect that this failed politician is doing is to preach about unemployment. All of us who are jobless are blaming him for accelerating closure of industries that used to offer jobs. During his tenure in the Inclusive Government he failed to facilitate the up-liftment of these sanctions which then ate into his popularity ahead of July 31, 2015.
Tsvangirai is a splendid failure that could hardly come-up with functional policies that could transform the nation. Or as it reflects itself, he is riding on the continued existence of illegal sanctions in Zimbabwe so that the population is frustrated until they protest against the ruling party. But honestly, people are sane that they can see the source of their problems.
Lack of political acumen in Tsvangirai led to successive splits of the MDC party since 2005. The recent break-away of the MDC Renewal Team led by Tendai Biti is a clear testimony that he is not capable of ruling the nation as he cannot keep a simple political party into tact.
