The Benjani Mwaruwari testimonial match organisers revealed Thursday that Chelsea's Didier Drogba and Michael Essien were no longer coming to the match that will signal the end of Mwaruwari's romance with the Warriors.

One of the match organisers, Tsaurayi Muzanenhamo, said the two players along with Mikel Obi had excused themselves after initially agreeing to attend the May 26 match.

Muzanenhamo said some of the stars among them, Emmanuel Adebayor, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, Steven Piennar and Nwankwo Kanu were attending. They were expected to arrive in the country next week.

Fans will pay $5 for the rest of the ground while the most expensive seats will be $20. The charges were less than the last high profile match featuring Zimbabwe and Brazil in 2010 where fans paid $10 for the cheapest seats.

Proceeds for the match go towards the Benjani Mwaruwari Foundation and the sports academy the player is building in Bulawayo.

Mwaruwari will play for the Warriors in one half, then for his visiting friends in the other half as he kisses goodbye to his association with the Warriors.

The star player, who took over the Warriors captaincy from Peter Ndlovu just after the end of the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations finals, captained the Warriors for close to four years.
