'I miss Highlanders,' says Kuda Mahachi

MAMELODI Sundowns' new arrival Kudakwashe Mahachi has said while he is settling well at his new camp in Pretoria, South Africa, he misses Highlanders.
Mahachi, a senior national team attacking midfielder who is now ready for the Absa Premiership after receiving his work permit last week, spent the first half of the local premiership league on free loan to Highlanders.
"All I can say is that I am settling well here at Mamelodi Sundowns. But to be frank with you, I just miss Highlanders so much. I miss the fans and that atmosphere at Barbourfields Stadium," said Mahachi who took his young family together with him to Mzansi.
Asked on his failed move to French giants AS Monaco, the courageous Mahachi said he has put the sad development at the back of his mind.
"I am now focusing on my job here at Sundowns. I have put that sad development at the back of my mind. There is no need to worry," said Mahachi.
He has already been registered at Sundowns and has been handed the number 43 jersey after the Brazilians failed to agree a transfer fee with French giants AS Monaco.
Reports from South Africa claim the player made the grade during a two-week trial stint but the two clubs were worlds apart in their valuation of the former Bantu Rovers, Chicken Inn and Highlanders star.
At Sundowns, Mahachi joins up with Warriors legend Peter Ndlovu, who is team manager, veteran midfielder Esrom Nyandoro, Cuthbert Malajila and Khama Billiat.
Nyasha Mushekwi's future at Sundowns is uncertain as he is undergoing rehabilitation after an injury sustained last season in Belgium and could be put on loan before the transfer window closes on 31 August.
