CASTLE Lager Premier Soccer League leading goalscorer Bruce Kangwa is still trying to adjust his play following the departure of striking partner Knox Mutizwa last month. Kangwa told coach, Erol Akbay that he was failing to play his normal game as he was yet to gel with his current striking partners.

Speaking during a routine Press conference at the Highlanders club offices on Friday morning, Akbay revealed he had asked Bruce why he was no longer looking dangerous in attack and the player revealed that the absence of Mutizwa had affected his play.

Mutizwa joined South African Premiership side, Bidvest Wits on loan, pending a final move, at the beginning of the month.

Kangwa is also linked to a possible move to Tanzania after he was invited for trials by that country's top flight side Azam Football Club and will be leaving after today's match.

"I asked Kangwa why he is not as dangerous as he used to be in attack and he revealed he had been used to playing alongside Knox and it is taking him time to adjust. He said they had developed an understanding with Knox that enabled him to mount strong attacks but with the new partners he is yet to do that,'' said Akbay.

"It is difficult to be changing players as we also have to change the style of play and this takes time to do and make us effective but we have to make do with the players that we have. The club has indicated there is no cash to buy new players and we have to soldier on with the arsenal we have," said Akbay.

The Bosso livewire Kangwa is the leading goal scorer with six goals and had been tipped to add on to his tally but has found the going tough since the departure of Mutizwa who last featured for Bosso in their win against ZPC Kariba at Barbourfields.

Following the loss of Mutizwa early this month, Akbay is struggling to find a regular replacement for the striker and he has introduced Kasimero Chimbadzwa, Nhlanhla Ndlovu, Ralph Matema and speedy forward, Gabriel Nyoni as he tries to plug the gap.

Bosso has failed to get maximum points in the two games they have played in Mutizwa's absence, losing 2-0 to Chicken Inn and losing vital ground in a nil-all draw against Mutare City. The Dutch coach said injuries have hit their camp with four players in the casualty ward; these include Benson Phiri, Honest Moyo, Rahman Kutsanzira and King Nadolo. Highlanders will also be missing the services of captain, Felix Chindungwe this afternoon when they take on Caps United in a top of the table clash at Barbourfields Stadium after the defender was suspended for accumulating three yellow cards.
