05 Jun 2017 at 14:01hrs | Views
UPCOMING NORTON, Zimbabwe Gospel diva-in-the-making, Borny Ngwenya is optimistic that God will certainly see him to stardom in Zimbabwe's much coveted Gospel Music Industry, The Gender Post can reveal.
'My mission in singing gospel music is to preach God's Word so that everybody understands it better', said Ngwenya.
To date, Borny has recorded two Afro-jazz gospel tracks, Famba Naro in 2004 at Carbon Studios in Maridale and Tokudaidza Ishe, which was recorded in 2015 by Munyaradzi Mataruse. The two songs which mark his debut entry into Gospel Music were recorded in Norton, Zimbabwe. Ngwenya admits that he has put into consideration the issue of gender balance in his band, The Gospel Light, which constitute 4 males and 3 female as backing vocalists.
'My music is still fresh because after recording it, I could not market it due to logistical constraints beyond my pocket'.
He, however, thanked the fans in Norton who have shown great interest in his music which was released to the streets last year in 2016.
'I thank all my fans and church mates at St John Apostolic Church of the Whole World for their consistent support'.
Tokudadzai Ishe is Borny's favourite and talks about his prayer to God for barren women to conceive and bear children. He echoes the prayer of Biblical Hannah and how her faith finally broke forth and rewarded her diligence with children.
He is married to beautiful Enea Sekenhamo are blessed with two children, Bonngani and Sindiso. Borny's music is on its way to the airwaves. You better watch out for him!
