Impumelelo Stars shining with Black Mambazo

GWANDA - Celebrated Isichathamiya gospel group Impumelelo Shining Stars is urging unity, peace and tolerance through their 5th album titled Amaqhinga Aphelile; (All Plans Are Finished).
The 14-track album was recorded at Durban's United Rhythms Recording Studio under the guidance and blessing of renowned South African musician and leader of Isichamiya legendary group Ladysmith Black Mambazo: Joseph Shabalala alongside Albert Mazibuko.
Already enjoying airplay are hit tracks like Izulu Lingcwele, Emanzini Abilayo, Amaqhinga Aphelile, Through The Glory Of The Lord and Wobuyu-buye which features and was composed by the Southern Africa's iconic artist Joseph Shabalala.
"Our mission is to preach gospel through music; we encourage the community to love and respect each other so that we may live in harmony. All our members are born again Christians, we are trying to give back to the community through our music. Through the experience we got from Shabalala we are raring to go and help change our societies back home. He taught us the power of prayer, the importance of practice and to be patient in our future ventures so that we may taste the fruits of patience," said Thembelani Ndlovu, vocalist and co-leader of the group.
"We are glad because we are gaining more and more support worldwide as a result we aim to break into more languages as we currently sing in Ndebele/Zulu and English. From the 17th to the 20th of this month we will be performing in Tete in Mozambique. We are also preparing for the official launch of Amaqhinga Aphelile next month," said Oscar Siziba, group leader, composer and lead vocalist.
The Stars have performed in all Southern african countries and in festivals like: Intwasa, Ibumba, Bulawayo Comes Alive, HIFA and recently entertained at the Hillbrow Theatre in Johannesburg. Impumelelo has managed to share the stage with musicians like Shabalala Rhythms, Derrick Ndzimande, Jeys Marabini, Black Umfolosi, Zinjaziyamluma and Abafana bakaMashobana.
The 9 member group was formed at Enqameni in Gwanda but are now based in Bulawayo. They have released 7 albums namely: Emthonjeni in 2001, Umhlaba Uyajikajika in 2002, Uhlaleleni in 2004, Ngeke Ehluleke in 2005, Unomalanga in 2006 and Love One Another in 2010 and Amaqhinga Aphelile this year.
