IT SEEMS gospel singer Sfiso Ncwane's malaria treatment has worked as on Friday he and his wife, Ayanda, said on Instagram that the singer had been diagnosed with malaria but when Daily Sun spoke to Ayanda, she said they were on their way to a church service.
She refused to comment whether Sfiso took medication against malaria during his trips to other African countries.
"I'm not going to comment because Daily Sun usually reports negatively about us," said Ayanda.
Daily Sun reported that later Ayanda posted on Instagram saying that her husband had been declared malaria-free.
"Malaria lost the battle; my husband had been declared malaria-free after a heavy course of antibiotics."
On Friday Sfiso and his wife Ayanda said on Instagram the singer had been diagnosed with malaria, a mosquito-borne disease. It usually takes about two weeks of treatment to clear up. Ayanda asked the fans for prayers.
The couple said Sfiso contracted the disease while performing in Musina, Limpopo, last week and asked for prayers.
Ayanda said the singer of Kulungile Baba got flu after the trip, which got worse as the week went by.
"He went to a doctor and did tests. The doctor diagnosed him with malaria. He was not hospitalised but was given medication to use at home," said Ayanda.
"Thank you all for your prayers," she posted.
She said every time Sfiso records a new album, his first stop is pain and suffering.
"I wonder if it's God's ways of conveying messages to him because the songs that come afterwards are unbelievable and healing," she said.
Last year Sfiso was admitted to hospital for a few days with heart problems.
After his survival he bought a R1,9- million Mercedes-Benz for Pastor Francis Asonike, saying that he had survived because of him.
His hit song, Bayede Baba, is very popular on radio and TV.
