Book proceeds to benefit Nkayi ONLY

A former Zimbabwe national team ruby player â€" Andy Pocock has declared that proceeds from sale of a book which he has written should benefit the people of Nkayi.

Pocock recently wrote an autobiography titled: Open side-My Journey to the Ruby World Cup.

He advised Senator David Coltart of the book in letter which we publish hereunder unedited:

"Dear Family and Friends,

"As you might/might not know, my son Dave has written an autobiography/world cup diary titled "Openside- My Journey to the Rugby World Cup". He is very honest and talks about life growing up in Zimbabwe, the move to Australia, his schooling in Australia, as well as the life of a professional rugby player, amongst other things. The book is available in all major book stores, but in order to maximise profits, Dave is trying to sell it privately through www.heroesboots.com. All of the profits from the book are going towards his charity Eighty Twenty Vision (www.eightytwentyvision.org). It is basically a community of about 110 000 people in Nkayi, Zimbabwe, a place not far from where we used to live that he is trying to empower the people so that they are able to provide for themselves and become self sufficient. He stresses that Eightytwenty is not an aid program, but rather a community development scheme whereby the people are helped to increase their capacity to sustain themselves.
