The Zimbabwe Human Rights Lawyers has challenged the government to allocate adequate resources in the national budget to the fight against HIV and AIDs.
In a FaceBook post, posted by the organisation's Communications manager Kumbirai Mafunda, ZLHR said they were constantly reminding the government to allocate adequate resources in the national budget to fight HIV and AIDS and other diseases afflicting people in Zimbabwe.
"Thus, we are encouraged when People Living With HIV and AIDS exercise their constitutionally guaranteed rights by peacefully expressing their demand for more funding for healthcare as happened during this year's World Aids Day celebrations held in Kwekwe on 01 December 2016," said the ZLHR.
"The protesters called upon the government to increase domestic funding for health. This was conveniently in the presence of Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa whom we hope appreciated the message and together with the government will act upon it."
