ZIMBABWEAN striker Evans Rusike is reported to have been hijacked and kidnapped in Midrand, South Africa on Tuesday evening.
Rusike is presently attached with Sekhukhune United in the neighbouring country.
According to South African publication Cape Town Today, Rusike who happens to reside in a luxurious apartment within a residential community, found himself on the receiving end of a brutal gang's vicious assault carried out under the shroud of nightfall.
The frightful event unravelled around 8pm, according to the police and was hauntingly documented on the residential complex's CCTV system.
As Rusike tried to access his house, he was unexpectedly trapped by a gang of criminals who swooped down on him like night predators.
The gang later abandoned him in a nearby bush, giving them enough time to escape with his car before any tracking devices could locate it.
Rusike is not the only Zimbabwean to have such an unfortunate deed befall him.
Just last year, former Warriors captain Willard Katsande was involved in a gruesome car hijacking incident in the City of Johannesburg in South Africa.
The incident came a year after Katsande was involved in another hijack which left him with injuries while his German-manufactured SUV vehicle was damaged after he was assaulted during a road rage incident on the West Rand.
Rusike's incident comes a year after yet another worrying incident which saw ex-Warriors star Charles Yohane (48) shot dead in a car hijacking in South Africa in February.
His body was reportedly found dumped at Mzimhlophe in Soweto before it was taken by the police and later buried in Zimbabwe a week after his death.
