Popular radio and television personality Tichafa Matambanadzo, better known as Tich Mataz, has rubbished reports that he was now a prophet.
Speaking during a ZiFM Stereo programme, The Rush, Matambanadzo said he was shocked to read that he was now a prophet in the media last week, saying he was just used by Harare's Victory World International Ministries Church leader by Paul Sanyangore to illustrate a point on prophecy.
Sanyangore prayed for Tich Mataz and directed him to listen to prophetic voices on his phone which he would deliver to the people.
"God is amazing. Everything in life begins and ends with God. We cannot joke about God," Tich Mataz said in responding to whether he was now a prophet or not.
"I attended a church service like any other person and the man of God wanted to illustrate something and he chose me. He was using me as an example.
"I would like people to stop believing anything they read in the newspapers and follow the hype. I would have expected the scribe to call me and ask me whether I am a prophet or not. I was shocked to see that in the newspaper," he said.
According to Sanyangore, he used Tich Mataz to demonstrate that God could communicate over the phone.
