The Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe (ACCZ) is embarking on a community awareness campaign on mitigating illegal operations by dubious traditional healers better known as Tsikamutandas following a request by community leaders in Mhondoro.
Speaking at the ordination of two traditional leaders, Chief Nherera and Mhondoro-Mubaira legislator, George Gangarahwe said bogus healers have become a menace, fleecing villagers of their properties.
ACCZ President, Archbishop Johannes Ndanga said the organisation is launching a multi-stakeholder awareness campaign to alert communities nationwide on the deceptive operations of Tsikamutandas
Bishop Douglas Mandaza of the Power of God Apostolic Church was ordained together with Bishop Veronica Kwati of Johane Masowe Chishanu Jerusalema Church.
In January this year, the government prohibited activities of the Tsikamutandas in rural villages, directing the Ministry of Rural Development, Promotion and Preservation of National Culture and Heritage in collaboration with the police to work together to stop the practice and restore order.
