All eyes on Zanu PF squabbles

All eyes are now on the unfolding squabbles in the ruling Zanu PF as the nation gears for the 2018 elections amid concerns there is a need of change of government as the Zanu PF government has failed to run the country for the past 37 years.

A human rights activist and politician based in Gwanda Bekezela Fuzwayo said he walked into a coffee shop at a Filling Station in Gwanda this morning and found this South African guy reading local newspapers including The Chronicle. "Everyone is all eyes and ears trying to follow events in Zanu PF, President Mugabe, Grace, Jonathan, Mnangagwa etc. The best place to follow these is in our newspapers. How do we inclusively follow the news then when NATIONAL newspapers meant to be publishing in English do not see it fit that when they quote in another language they have the obligation to translate into the language the paper is meant to publish in," he said.

"I have seen Tonga publications and I don't buy them because I can't read Tonga. We buy these ENGLISH papers because we believe we will read the stories in English. It was embarrassing to begin to try and translate to this gentleman what the First Lady was saying and having to fail to make sense of some words. We have lots of papers in our different languages and we value that so much so please lets try to keep our English publications that way."

"I honestly failed to make sense of the first paragraph below about "nyaradzwa poizenwa" etc and worse the last one. I looked like a fool to the foreign guy when I shouldn't be the fool but these selfish publishers who believe that everyone in Zimbabwe or the world MUST be able to read Shona," he added.

He said Facebook can't even translate, someone please help with the translation. Below is an extract from today's Herald AND Chronicle:

I want to ask, what do I get from him? I am the wife of Mugabe, but someone anosimuka oti inini I want to kill Mnangagwa kuti ndinodei kwaari chandisina ini? Yes, my husband is the President. He is an intelligent man I am proud of. The most principled man ever on earth. The peaceful man ever on earth. Someone very disciplined when it comes to madzimai, yes. He is not a bambazonke type. Never. It is me and me alone. Saka chii chandingade kune umwe munhu, ndinodirei kuuraya umwe munhu? Aiwa munhu akatopihwawo basa nemurume wangu ndomuuraya inini. It is nonsensical,"

She said people must learn to keep quiet when they have nothing to say.

"Politics kana dzakusvika ipapo that means wapererwa. Kana wapererwa chienda kumba unogara. Kana watryer zvese zvawatryer zvaramba, chirega kuramba uchitaurisa zvambotaurwa paya nekuti unenge wakutaura zvinhu zvisina kukodzera. Nekuti hazviite kuti munhu angati I like the President but I do not like his wife, impossible, hazviite, which means you do not like the President himself."
