HOPING for better days!
Former Highlanders and Chicken Inn veteran goal minder Njabulo "Popo" Nyoni who was injured mid-way through the season on duty for Southern Region Division One outfit, ZRP Bulawayo Province has no kind words for the side.
The "masters of the handcuffs" allegedly failed to take care of him during his hour of need when he broke his finger in a league match versus Bulawayo Chiefs. The only thing they did was buy him painkillers.
"I fractured my finger while I was doing duty for ZRP Bulawayo. But the club decided not to help me out. I ended up digging deep into my pockets to pay the bill which included payments for an x ray scan and the moulding of a plaster around my injured finger. They only bought pain killers for me," said the dreadlocked goalie.
Injured and out of work he interestingly joined Bulawayo Chiefs as a standby player. Now that the team has qualified for the top flight with a few games to spare, Nyoni is hopeful that he will play for them next season.
"I will resume playing for Bulawayo Chiefs in the top flight league," said Nyoni.
