There was drama at Mvurwi police station when a "habitual thief" allegedly wept in front of police officers begging to be released after instant justice had been meted on him by an angry mob.
Allegations are that George Gandiwa stole a satchel and rain suit in a shop at Suoguru Township.
Gandiwa was reportedly caught trying to hide the stolen property in his big pair of trousers by a man identified as Choko Choko.
"I saw this guy trying to steal a rain suit and a satchel in a shop and ordered him to surrender the stolen property.
"The alleged thief tried to resist prompting an angry mob to discipline him before surrendering him to the police," said Choko Choko.
However, the police did not show up in time after a report was made allowing the crowd to exercise karate on the suspect.
After a good one hour without police presence the complaint surrendered the suspect to the police.
Apparently, Gandiwa has less than one week out of prison on similar offense.
