Woman throws baby in blair toilet after dispute with hubby

A Muzarabani woman reportedly tried to kill her 6-weeks-old baby on Wednesday by dumping the infant in a blair toilet leaving the whole village shell-shocked.
Investigations by Bulawayo24.com proved that Fungai Muzenda of Chenguruve village under chief Kasekete allegedly dumped a 6-week-old infant in a Blair toilet after serious paternity dispute with her husband Tongai Katsande.
Katsande reportedly saw his wife throwing the baby in a toilet and ran to a police base in Chadereka where he filed a police report.
Two police details attended the scene and retrieved the baby who was still alive and arrested the mother before sending the child to Chiwenga clinic for cleaning.
The baby was transferred to St Albert's mission where the sister-in-charge recommended breastfeeding of the infant.
Meanwhile, cases of baby dumping are prevalent in Guruve district though the chief culprits are sex workers as they allege unwanted pregnancies hinder their operations.
