Policy analyst Butler Tambo has rapped the government for publishing fuel and spare parts companies who order these goods from outside the country because of their shortage local claiming they are externalisers.
The government published a list of externalisers on Monday after the lapse of the amnesty that president Emmerson Mnangagwa had given to externalisers to return the money they externalized.
"So someone thought it was a good idea to publish a list of bus companies who buy fuel and spare parts outside the country and industrialists who import raw materials which are not available in Zimbabwe and then call them Externalizers of foreign currency.Merely publishing a list of shelf companies without giving names of the Directors who run these enterprises does not shed any light into anything," Tambo said.
"Can these diversionary tactics please stop let us deal with real issues like the strike by health care staff, the cash shortages, and operationalising such initiatives as SEZs which can help in resuscitating the moribund economy."
