Chief Njelele of Gokwe has hailed zanu-pf Secretary for War Veterans Victor Matemadanda for his commitment in pushing for development in the area.

In an interview last week, Chief Njelele said Matemadanda was fostering several developmental projects in the area.

"Last month we had people who wanted to evict settlers from Mapfungautsi Forest and Ngondoma Village, but he stood his ground and negotiated with authorities," he said.

Chief Njelele said it was important that business people and politicians enhanced development in Gokwe.

"He has done well in making sure that people enjoy peace of mind," he said.

"We want to thank the President, Emmerson Mnangagwa, for considering us the people of Gokwe by appointing Matemadanda as a Politburo member," he said.

Chief Njelele said he had since engaged Matemadanda to foster the development of infrastructure projects that give locals employment and improve education in their area.

"He told us that he will ensure that all will be solved," he said.

"He told us that President Mnangagwa was a man who wanted investors in the country and he will take advantage of that to have some established companies to invest in Gokwe."

In a separate interview, Matemadanda said he was born and bred in Gokwe and he would continue to work towards the development of the district and Midlands Province.

"We have set up a number of projects for Gokwe South because gone are the days when our people become a source of social memes," he said.

"I am happy the people have agreed to be united and vote for zanu-pf that will bring them development."

Matemadanda said several developmental projects had since been lined up.
