A young Zimbabwean medical doctor who wept while addressing a ZANU-PF National Youth Convention in Gweru yesterday has faced a lot of criticism on social media.
The doctor, who is only identified himself as doctor Mugoni, sobbed after chanting ZANU–PF slogans and giving a speech thanking the president and his deputy for over 100% salary increments awarded to doctors after their strike.
National Patriotic Front spokesperson Jealous Mawarire castigated the doctor and the government saying, "This is what happens when a whole govt legalises mbanje growing. Chiremba vakatorohwa zvavo nechamba."
A Twitter user Dr Edgar Munatsi blasted Mugoni saying he misrepresented the Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association by chanting political slogans hence labeling his antics a shame.
"lt is unfortunate that one doctor misrepresented &chanted political slogans at a ZANUPF rally in the name of the Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association. Shame!"
Afigwa here arikuchema uyo.Mwari pindirayi vanhu vaye vatanga, tweeted Frankie Smalls.
Black Stallion said, "hahah iwo madrugs amakazobvumidza aya."
Chiiko ichi nhai? questioned Munya Mugadza.
Tafadzwa Mutemachimwe scorned the doctor before saying he gives up.
"Kkkl I give up!"
Also joining the fray was renowed academic and political analyst Alex T Magaisa who simply remarked "And the doctor wept."
