The coalition of opposition parties seeks to return Zimbabwe to legitimacy following mutilation of constitutional foundations by the military in November 2017.
The MDC Alliance SMART manifesto launched in Harare detailed the urgent need to restore legitimacy in the political administration of the country.
"The most urgent requirement for Zimbabwe to make progress is a return to legitimacy. This is particularly critical following the military coup of November 2017 which left the country with severe legitimacy deficit."
According to the MDC Alliance's road-map towards legitimacy include political and institutional reforms, free, fair and credible elections consistent with the Constitution and international standards and well as full and comprehensive implementation of constitutional and legislative reforms to enhance democracy and protect civilian authority.
The alliance said there will be underwriting the transitional process (including the election and peaceful transfer of power) by the international community.
MDC-T president Nelson Chamisa will represent the coalition of eight political parties which joined forces in an effort to end Zanu PF's long rule.
