President Emmerson Mnangagwa has urged the people of Zimbabwe to remain united for the country to move forward.
Speaking during the Johane Marange Apostolic Church's Passover feast in Mafararikwa, Bocha, Manicaland Province today, the President said it is good and pleasant for brothers to dwell in unity.
"God will bless his people where there is peace and unity. For the country to go forward it needs people to be united and work together in peace for the development of Zimbabwe," he said.
President Mnangagwa shared a message of peace from the book of Psalms 133 vs 1-3 which reads; "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell in unity! 2 It is like the fine oil upon the head that ran down upon the beard, upon Aaron's beard, that ran down upon the hem of his garments. 3 Like the dew of Hermon that came down upon the mountains of Zion. For there Jehovah commanded the blessing: Life forever".
He said he took his time to come and learn about the word of God for it is for eternity.
"The word of God is for eternity that is why we came here to learn about it. Life on this earth will end but in God there is eternal life," said President Mnangagwa.
The President said he will support the church's agricultural projects as discussed earlier when he met the church's leader Mutumwa Noah Taguta, a move aimed at ensuring that families are food self-sufficient.
"The church has been given land to farm as well as the inputs. The issue of water was looked into and I am sure it has been resolved. The roads will be constructed in the Marange area so that people here will have easy access to reach this shrine," he said.
He said the church should be the leading light of the world saying he who follows the word of God shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Every July, thousands gather for the Passover feast which stretches from the 1st to the 17th marking the day on which the founding father of the Johane Marange Apostolic Church is said to have been anointed to start leading the church.
