Charles Mhlauri is being tipped to be among the candidates that could take over as Warriors coach following the resignation of Sunday Chidzambwa last week.
Just over 10 years since he was sacked as coach of the Zimbabwe national team, recent events have seen Mhlauri being linked with the Warriors coaching job.
Mhlauri was the country's second coach to lead Zimbabwe to AFCON before being fired after failing to guide Zimbabwe to the 2008 tournament.
Despite being said to be ZIFA's preferred candidate, the local football governing body insists it is doing everything by the book.
"There are processes that have to be followed. There was a meeting at the weekend and it was agreed that the technical committee will meet on 3 August to review performances and come up with a way forward following Chidzambwa's resignation which the association accepted," ZIFA Communications Manager, Xolisani Gwesela said.
Chidzambwa's resignation last week has stirred anxiety among fans who are eager to know who will take over as warriors coach.
Norman Mapeza, Lloyd Chitembwe and Joey Antipas are some of the candidates being tipped for the Warriors job, but ZIFA is for now calling for patience given the technical committee will meet on the 3rd of August.
