Attempted rape at MDC HQ

AN MDC youth official, Tendai Muchekahanzu, yesterday appeared in court accused of trying to rape a party employee at the Morgan Richard Tsvangirai (MRT) House headquarters, popularly known as Harvest House.
The 46-year-old was not asked to plead to the allegations when he appeared before Harare magistrate Judith Taruvinga, who remanded him out of custody on $2 000 bail.
With a bandaged head, Muchekahanzu said he was injured during an attack at the party headquarters and when he made a report to the police, he was arrested on attempted rape allegations.
It is the State's case that on October 24 at around wpm, the complainant was sleeping with a friend in one of the offices at MRT House.
The friend reportedly went out and Muchekahanzu allegedly sneaked into the office wearing only his pair of boxers.
He allegedly got into her blankets and removed his boxers before he started kissing the woman. It is alleged that he turned her around and removed her underclothes. The woman woke up just when Muchekahanzu was about to rape her and started screaming.
On hearing her screaming, the other party workers woke up and rushed to the woman's rescue.
This resulted in Muchekahanzu's arrest and his subsequent appearance in court yesterday.
