Mum rejects baby's name

A woman was left furious after her mum told her she hopes she does not give birth to a baby girl as she hates the name she chose.
The woman, who is trying for a baby, said she and her partner already have two concrete names picked out.
"We decided not to tell anyone the names until our baby was born and already had it on the birth certificate (because what can they say at that point?)," she said.
But then "my mum found my list of girls' names and spread our top choice around to the whole family who hate it," she revealed.
"My partner is Irish, and we both love the name Saoirse (Ser-Sha)," the woman said.
Adding: "There is a famous actress with the same name, so we didn't think it would be a huge deal."
But her mum told her if she gives birth to a little girl, she won't call her by her given name and will instead call her ‘Sushi'.
Her entire family then jumped on board with this and began "harassing" her about the name.
"Honestly, I know I shouldn't stress too much as there's a fifty-fifty chance I will have a baby boy anyway, but the discourse around the name has really started to aggravate me and the idea that my kid is going to be bullied by my whole family because she has an Irish name is getting under my skin," she said.
The woman explained that the last time her mum asked her if she had gotten a positive pregnancy test, she said no, to which her mum said: "Well, let's hope it's not a girl because she's Sushi to me."
"I flat out told my mother I don't care for her opinion as she has s*** taste in names anyway."
When her mum asked her what she meant by that, she revealed that she has always hated her own name, which is why it is so important she choose a special name for her daughter.
The woman wondered whether she was in the wrong for how she acted, but everyone agreed that her mum was just "cruel" for disregarding the name completely.
Twin clashes with identical brother for marrying his ex
A 21-year-old man has spoken of his anguish after discovering that his twin sibling is set to marry his ex-girlfriend, and wants him to act as the best man at the wedding, despite their history.
The man, who has remained anonymous, said he had dated the girl five years earlier when they were both 16 and they stayed together for two years.
But when the time came for them to go to university, the pair decided to split as the man did not want to stay local — his ex, however, stayed in the same town.
When the man came home from university, he discovered that his identical twin had a girlfriend, but was shocked to discover it was the same girl he had dated.
Then his shock turned to horror as the pair got engaged, and the brother asked his twin to be his best man — and he refused.
Sharing the story on social media, the twin said: "I first started dating my now ex-girlfriend when we were both 16. However, we made the decision to break up before heading off to college when we were 18.
"I decided to go a few hours away while she decided to stay local. Also, note that my girlfriend was very close with my family so this was hard on my family as well.
"When returning home from my first year of college, my brother surprised me with the news that he had been dating a girl for over six months now.
"The only problem — it was my ex-girlfriend."
The twin said he was angry at his brother, but together they salvaged their relationship by agreeing that the three would never mingle together.
He continued: "I was obviously p****d and my brother understood but made it clear he had no intention of breaking up with her.
"Eventually we came to the agreement that we would continue our relationship if he never mentioned her to me or made us interact — he happily agreed to these terms.
"However, recently my brother surprised me with the news that the two of them are now engaged, and he wants me to be his best man.
"I told him absolutely not.
"My whole family is calling me selfish and telling me I can suck it up for one night. But I just don't feel comfortable being the best man at my ex's wedding."
The man sparked debate by sharing his story online.

Might be a good time to move forward for your sake and theirs."
