DISGRUNTLED Chiweshe villagers have approached High Court after Mazowe Rural District Council (MRDC) allegedly refused to furnish them with master plan and site plan of Rosa hospital.
The villagers accuse MRDC of parcelling out business and residential stands on hospital land.
In a High Court application seen by this publication dated May 28, High Court case number 2649/21, which cited MRDC as first responded and Ministry of Local Government as the second applicant the villagers demanded documents of the hospital inline with Section 62 of the Constitution that is Freedom of information Act.
"The First Respondent has demarcarted land which is meant for the Rosa Clinic expansion into commercial stands.
The First Respondent has commenced allocating various stands to individuals and business to the detriment of the community.
It is in the interest of the Applicants in their representative capacity to stop the illegality," reads part of the application.
"The First Respondent has despite demand refused ,failed or neglected to furnish the Master Plan, Site Plan and all related documents in contravention of Section 62 of the Constitution as read with Section 5,7 and 8 of the Freedom of Information Act (Chapter 10.33).
In March this year village heads summoned Mazowe Central Member of Parliament Syden Chidamba and Mazowe District Coordinating Committee DCC which was accompanied by ZANU PF Politiburo member Fortune Chasi to express their disgust.
The leadership took the villagers consents down and promised to assist them by engaging the local authority but the engagement did not yield any results.
