U.S. singer Jermaine Jackson is writing a memoir about his brother, the late pop icon Michael Jackson, according to media reports Thursday.

The book, titled "You Are Not Alone: Through a Brother's Eyes", is set for release in fall 2011 by Touchstone. And it promises to give an all-round tour of Jackson's rising to fame, molestation trial, complex relationships with parents, and the circumstances of his death.

"We don't want Michael's life - or death - to be an eternal mystery," Jermaine said in a release. "This is the truth as we know it. I have read so much about what people think they know about Michael, but this is about what really happened. I hope to make sense of the occasions when the outside world struggled to understand my brother's world."

"It is a frank, but sophisticated examination of the human, not the legend, with revealing insights and no subject off limits," publisher Touchstone said.

In a statement, Jermaine Jackson noted the upcoming trial of Jackson's doctor Conrad Murray and said that his family does not want what is said in court to remain the final word on the life of his mega-star brother.

"We want the world to remember his truth, his legacy, and some wonderful memories we shared as brothers, as a family. We don't want Michael's life to be an eternal mystery," Jermaine Jackson said. "This book's blood is thicker than water."

Michael Jackson, whose "Thriller" remains the best-selling album of all time, died of a drug overdose in June 2009.
