Geza warns Mnangagwa against firing Chiwenga

Outspoken war veteran Blessed Geza has warned President Emmerson Mnangagwa against dismissing Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, as tensions within ZANU PF reportedly reach boiling point.

Geza issued the warning via his X (formerly Twitter) account.

"There are rumors suggesting that Emmerson plans to dismiss Gen Chiwenga from his position. Let me assure you that if Emmerson does that, it would definitely be a reckless overreach, and we wouldn't expect him to repeat what Mugabe did to him, kuchachemwa," Geza posted.

His remarks follow reports that Mnangagwa's camp is planning to fire Chiwenga within five days, sparking fears of a possible outbreak of violence between rival military factions aligned to the two leaders.

Chiwenga is believed to still hold significant influence within the military, while Mnangagwa is said to have consolidated his own support by recently gifting luxury vehicles to top commanders—a move analysts interpret as an attempt to secure loyalty amid rising tensions.

Sources claim Chiwenga is furious with Mnangagwa's conduct, especially given his role as kingmaker in the 2017 ousting of former President Robert Mugabe, which paved the way for Mnangagwa's rise to power.

He reportedly views Mnangagwa as "the most ungrateful person," particularly in light of recent statements by Mnangagwa loyalist Temba Mliswa, who hinted that the President is preparing a move against Chiwenga.

Latest reports suggest Chiwenga will be removed from his vice presidential post within five days as ZANU PF prepares for its national conference.

"Chiwenga will be fired from VP position in the next 5 coming days," said a source. "Just be ready for turns and twists in this political arena."
