The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has issued a stern warning against what it describes as coordinated attempts to interfere with ongoing investigations and court proceedings involving Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries leader, Walter Magaya.
In a statement released on 15 November 2025, police said individuals and syndicates are allegedly working to "defeat or obstruct the course of justice" as Magaya faces criminal charges before the courts.
According to the ZRP, a team led by Albertina Saikonda - reportedly based in South Africa - is mobilising funds estimated at over US$200,000 across Zimbabwe, South Africa and Australia. Authorities claim the money is intended to bribe investigators, prosecutors, magistrates and judges in an attempt to derail the legal process.
"The money will then be used to approach and compromise the police investigators, prosecutors, magistrates and judges, among others, so as to derail the whole criminal investigations and court proceedings," the statement reads.
Police warned that anyone involved in such activities will be arrested and face the full force of the law. The ZRP added that it is closely monitoring developments "with a very keen interest" to ensure the integrity of justice delivery.
The force also urged potential witnesses to immediately report any individuals offering cash, favours or promises related to the case.
"All potential witnesses should report anyone dangling any form of offers or cash or promises to the police for swift action to be taken," the statement said.
Magaya is currently before the courts facing rape and fraud charges stemming from a disputed housing project.
