A Harare-based prosecutor is set to appear in court today over failure to pay child maintenance.
Tendai Tapi, 33, who is employed at the Harare Magistrates Court, is accused of neglecting his financial obligations toward his mistress, Paidamoyo Gutu, 33. Tapi reportedly owes US$1,474, which includes monthly payments of US$134 for the upkeep of their child.
Paidamoyo, an employee of the National Prosecuting Authority, reportedly approached police at Highlands Police Station after becoming frustrated with what she described as a slow response regarding Tendai's arrest. She subsequently escalated the matter by filing a report at the Police General Headquarters.
The case is expected to be heard in Harare courts as authorities continue to process the complaint.
