Mnangagwa off to Ethiopia for AU summit

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has departed for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to participate in the African Union's 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government Summit.
The President will join fellow African leaders to deliberate on key continental issues aimed at strengthening regional integration, boosting trade, and promoting peace and security.
This year's summit is being held under the theme: "Assuring Sustainable Water Availability and Safe Sanitation Systems to Achieve the Goals of Agenda 2063."
President Mnangagwa was seen off at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport by Vice Presidents Dr Constantino Chiwenga and Dr Kembo Mohadi, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Dr Zhemu Soda, the ministry's Permanent Secretary Mr Nick Mangwana, Service Chiefs, and other senior Government officials.
Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Professor Amon Murwira is already in Ethiopia, where he is attending preparatory meetings expected to formulate recommendations for consideration and adoption by the Assembly.
Professor Murwira participated in the Ministerial Session of the 48th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council, which began on Wednesday ahead of the Heads of State summit.
