Frelimo leadership meets Sekuru Nyangatayani

Senior members of Mozambique's ruling party, Frelimo, last week met Zimbabwean traditional healer Sekuru Nyangatayani during his holiday visit to Magoe district.

Sekuru Nyangatayani held discussions with legislator Abudul Carlos Momade and councillor Neto Guidionr Faife, who later extended an invitation for him to attend Mozambique's Independence Day celebrations on 25 June in Magoe.

While in Mozambique, the traditional healer was also hosted on Radio Magoe by presenters Por Ndoliro and Costa Marcelino, who gave him a platform to speak about Zimbabwe and the long‑standing friendship between the two countries.

Speaking after the visit, Sekuru Nyangatayani said he was humbled by the warm reception.

"I was very happy to be in Mozambique where I met Frelimo leadership who invited me for their Independence Day celebrations. As usual, I will attend," he said.

"The people of Mozambique are very welcoming. We met several people and enjoyed African brew as we interacted."

Last year, the prominent sangoma attended Mozambique's Independence Day celebrations with several Zimbabwean artistes and received an enthusiastic welcome.
