The MDC Director of Elections for Harare Province Mekia Mangwende has died,he was 45.
Mangwende succumbed to a malaria attack in the late hours of Monday at Parirenyatwa hospital.
The late Mangwende was one of the most refined and industrious leaders who dedicated most his time to peace building and strengthening party structures in Harare Province.
He rose through the ranks from Ward level to the position of Director of elections the position he held at the time of his death.
Mekia Mangwende's death has robbed the party of an irreplaceable cadre whose commitment to duty was cherished by many people in Harare North where he worked as Jomic Co-chairperson during the days of the inclusive government.
The MDC joins sister and colleague Miriam Mangwende Mushayi and the Mangwende family in mourning Mekia who passed on at a time his services were needed most.
May his dear soul rest in eternal peace.
