The International Council of Tourism Partners (ICTP) is pleased to announce Zimbabwe has joined their global destination alliance group as a founding member. As confirmed by H.E. Eng. W. Mzembi, the Minister of Tourism of Zimbabwe during the recent International Institute for Peace Through Tourism (IIPT) conference in Lusaka, Zambia, his country is excited to join the first global alliance of tourism destinations. Countries, regions, and cities from around the globe plan to work together within the alliance to reach global media, trade, consumers, and share recourses at certain trade events and at many secondary global markets that one destination could not promote on its own.
Destinations joining ICTP have a commitment to green growth, which means smart travel, along with clean green ethics and quality at all levels of the value chain. Another key benefit of joining the ICTP destination marketing alliance is the pursuit of quadruple bottom-line sustainable development – climate, economic, social, and environmental balance.
ICTP Chairman Juergen Thomas Steinmetz said: "We're pleased to welcome Zimbabwe to our alliance as another founding member. The interest in our alliance from smaller to medium-sized countries, from regions and cities around the world, is overwhelming. At this time, we are attracting founding members before the official launch of the alliance during the World Travel Market in London in November.
Learn about the 7 seasons to visit Zimbabwe, besides the known National Wildlife parks, World Heritage sites, fishing, famous Victoria Falls. Here, tourists can explore the Pungwe Falls, a relatively unknown and undiscovered waterfall.
