Former MDC 99 President and founding member of the original Movement for Democratic Change Job "Wiwa" Sikhala who over the weekend was rejected from holding a position in the Morgan Tsvangirai led MDC T has vowed that he is not leaving the party he rejoined early this early. Writing in a Facebook update, Sikhala warns the members of the MDC T National Executive that rejected his nomination for Deputy Organising Secretary that if they think the rejection will make him leave the party he is not going anywhere. Sikhala claims that party President Tsvangirai confirmed to him that the members of the National Executive rejected his nomination to frustrate him out of the party.

"The President told me that it was done to frustrate me and in that frustration effort I walk away. Forget and smile. I am not going anywhere," said Sikhala declaring war to fight any forces against him both within and outside the party.

"Am prepared to see and fight evil both from within and from without."

Sikhala explains that he was approached by Morgan Tsvangirai to join the MDC T at a time when the party was faced with mass defection of members particularly founding members of the MDC and so joined to try and work in rescuing the party.

"The situation needed redemption to immediately stop the debranding that was being done to President Tsvangirai. and the party. For the sake of our people I agreed with to match forward together," said Sikhala.

The vibrant politician an obvious darling of many Zimbabweans says that he has not lost all hope in his fight for change in Zimbabwean governance claiming to be focusing "on a more broader national agenda." The obvious suggestion from Sikhala's sentiment is that he may just be hinting at contesting his St Mary's parliamentary seat in 2018.

Sikhala claims to have accepted the lower post of Deputy Organising Secretary for the good of the party though he could have rejected it.

"To the MDC family, you should not despair at all as I am focused on a more broader national agenda."

"In humility I accepted the lower position of Deputy Organising Secretary as nominated by the people and 5 provinces. Though I could have turned down the nominations, I accepted them for the common good of our party kutindozvada vanhu."

Closing off, Sikhala appears to be fore warning the members of the National Executive Committee that rejected his nomination that he may be ignoring their ejection until he hears from the party provinces that nominated him. Sikhala also expresses his unconditional support for Morgan Tsvangirai leaving analysts suspecting of a huge war to emanate from Sikhala against the MDC T executive members.

"I am in the trenches with Tsvangirai forever. I don't know what new strategies can be used. This one won't work. Let the people speak who nominated me. Until they withdraw their nominations as I earlier indicated, I have accepted their call to duty."

Here is the full statement by Sikhala on his rejection by the MDC T National Executive Committee. To the MDC family, you should not despair at all as I am focused on a more broader national agenda. When the President came to me negotiating reconciliation, it was during the most difficult period of our struggle in our movement . The president was lamenting that there was an exodus of many founding members of the party away from him such as Hon. Lucia Mativenga, Senator Sekai Holland and Grace Kwinje whom he holds in high esteem. The situation needed redemption to immediately stop the debranding that was being done to President Tsvangirai and the party. For the sake of our people I agreed with to match forward together. We organised to have a whirlwind of rallies throughout the country dubbed "Operation Restore Hope". We traversed throughout the country holding more than 20 rallies in operation blitzkrieg. The rallies that I and the president addressed, the first being the one in Stanley Square in Bulawayo. In everything I was oblivious of broader democratic agenda that we have long betrayed the people by endless splits. In humility I accepted the lower position of Deputy Organising Secretary as nominated by the people and 5 provinces. Though I could have turned down the nominations, I accepted them for the common good of our party kuti ndozvada vanhu. Despite a vitriolic fight against me in yesterday's national executive meeting by a few people who are now in the public glare, the President told me that it was done to frustrate me and in that frustration effort I walk away. Forget and smile. I am not going anywhere. Am prepared to see and fight evil both from within and from without. Such things have been happening for a long-time and people walked away through frustration. I am in the trenches with Tsvangirai forever. I don't know what new strategies can be used. This one won't work. Let the people speak who nominated me. Until they withdraw their nominations as I earlier indicated, I have accepted their call to duty."
