RESIDENTS of Hobhouse high-density suburb in Mutare witnessed real-life drama when a man with a knack for bedding married women ran out of luck and got caught in the bedroom of a married couple following a trap set up to expose the self-confessed marriage-wrecker.

Davison Maradza, who is popularly known as Boss Diva in the sprawling suburb of Hobhouse, was caught and detained in Farai Sandada's bedroom on Sunday night after the former had been invited by Sandada's wife whom he had been dating for more than a month.

Apparently, Maradza was once at the centre of Mutare City councillor John Nyamhoka's divorce wrangle after Maradza was said to be playing the hide-the-sausage game with the councillor's wife.

Clr Nyamhoka went on to divorce his wife and Maradza, who has two wives, is now understood to have moved in with the former councillor's wife.

However, on Monday morning when The Weekender visited House Number 4197, Hobhouse Two, animated residents were milling around the house where Boss Diva had been caught pants down the previous night.

Sandada narrated the events leading to Boss Diva's apprehension and vowed that they would only release him after "satisfactorily agreeing in terms of his apology''.

"It's more than a month ago when I started to hear about his intentions to propose love to my wife. I was told by my wife that she had been approached by two boys who said they had been sent by someone who wanted her phone number.

"She told them that she was happily married and would not give her numbers to anyone for no apparent reason.

"The boys are said to have apologised saying that they never knew she was married. After three days, he started to call my wife with a hidden contact cell phone number. In some of his early calls, he was asking whether he could send airtime to her.

"He kept on pestering me but never revealed his identity. Though he never wanted to be known over the phone, he kept on insisting that he is known and familiar to both my wife and I.

"He kept on doing that until we decided to trap him.

"We connived to let my wife appear as if she had indeed agreed to his proposal.

"My wife then accepted his offer for airtime and at one point he came to my place and gave my wife $5 airtime as he introduced himself as the person who was calling her all along," he said.

"After they met for the first time, my wife then told me that it was Boss Diva.

"I was taken aback because I knew Boss Diva from the issues related to Clr Nyamhoka.

"He (Boss Diva) then started asking whether he could visit my wife when I am away on duty.

"A plan was then mooted to let my wife accept Boss Diva's proposal to visit my place. In fact, she lied to him that I had gone to Masvingo.

"Boss Diva came over intending to spend the night with my wife. However, we had set up a trap and locked ourselves in a separate room. I had also alerted a number of close neighbours as witnesses.

"He came around 7pm and was allowed in. He sat on a stool near the door. After a few minutes, we knocked on the door and he swiftly went behind the door, but it was too late.

"We came in and asked him what he wanted in my bedroom. He had no meaningful explanation to make.

"We detained him since last night and we will release him when we reach an agreement in terms of compensation," said Sandada.

When asked for comment on the whole issue, Maradza said he was sorry and did not have any justification of his deeds.

He confirmed that he was at the centre of Clr Nyamhoka's divorce wrangle.

"I am really sorry. I have nothing to say. I am wrong and I cannot really find any excuse for this. I have no defence to make.

"I am married to two women and I just find myself in these situations. I just don't know why," said a seemingly remorseful Maradza.
