Mugabe appoints anti-corruption commission

President Robert Mugabe has appointed commissioners to the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) and the National Peace and Reconciliation Commission in line with the country's constitution.
In a statement issued by the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda, President Mugabe appointed Dr Job Wabhira as the chairperson of the anti-corruption commission.
Dr Wabhira, who is currently a public service commissioner, holds a doctorate of philosophy in jurisprudence.
He will chair the 9-member anti-corruption commission deputised by Dr Nanette Silukhuni.
Other commissioners are Goodson Nguni, Christine Fundira, Denford Chirindo, Cathy Muchechetere, Thandaza Masiye Moyo, Farai Mashonganyika and Boyana Ndou.
The Office of the President and Cabinet will now directly lead the fight against corruption after transferring the administration of ZACC from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Dr Sibanda, disclosed while announcing the new ZACC members.
The President has also appointed a 9-member National Peace and Reconciliation Commission which will be chaired by Bishop Emeritus Dr Ambrose Moyo, a founding member and of the Ecumenical Church Leaders' Forum.
Lilian Chigwedere will serve as deputy chairperson of the commission which also comprises Patience Znale Chiradza, Choice Ndoro, Netty Musanhu, Charles Masunungure, Dr Geoffrey Chada, Leslie Ncube and Godfrey Chekenyere.
