PRESIDENT Robert Mugabe is today excepted to oversee the official opening of Choppies supermarket in Chitungwiza Town Centre, Bulawayo24.com has learnt.
Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko has vast shares in the retail outlet.
This is the 27th branch and two more are due to be opened in Gweru tomorrow.
However, early this year, a Gweru Christian organisation, Christianlove Church dragged Mphoko's business entity to court claiming that it was illegally evicted from its rented premises in Mkoba 6, to pave way for the politician's shop.
In an urgent application filed at the High Court, the church leaders accused management of Choppies of conniving with the property owner, Catering Industry Pension Fund (CIPF), to terminate their lease agreement and evict them.
