Mthwakazi Republic Party President Mqondisi Moyo is expected to stand trial in Lupane today.

Moyo is accused by the Lupane Magistrate court of convening an unsanctioned meeting.

MRP spokesperson Mbonisi Gumbo said despite the fact that there is more than enough evidance to prove that Moyo was not the convener of the said meeting which took place on December 14 2016 in Lupane precisely Gumede village.

Moyo argue that the said meeting was organised by villagers not him or the party and it was not a rally as the police tried to potray it to be.

Moyo's Lawyer is expected to apply for his acquittal for the simple reason that the police arrested the wrong person. Failure of which he maybe forced to apply for the matter to be referred to the Constitutional Court.

Finally Lupane villagers are expected to come to the Lupane Magistrate court in their numbers to support their leader.
