THE two men who were recently found dead in a septic tank at the late Vice-President Landa John Nkomo's farm in Insuza have been buried.

The bodies of Nhlanhla Dube (23) and Pilate Moyo (28) who were workers at the farm were found half undressed and in an advanced state of decomposition in a septic tank in a suspected murder case that has left the Nkomo family in shock.

VP Nkomo's son, Jabulani, confirmed in a telephone interview yesterday the burial of the two workers.

"Moyo was buried in his home in Nkayi on Wednesday while Bhebhe was buried in his home in Siganda on Thursday. Their post mortem was done on Monday last week and the results came on Tuesday.

"I attended the burial in Nkayi and my brother, Kembo, attended the burial in Siganda on behalf of the family," said Mr Nkomo.

Mr Nkomo said the two men were not their direct workers as they were employed by their neighbour, a Mr Ncube, who is outside the country.

He said the two workers, however, used the family's farmhouse for accommodation.

He said his family and their neighbour assisted the bereaved families with groceries, coffins and transport.

The two bodies were discovered by VP Nkomo's son Kembo who was in the company of Ndabazelizwe Ncube recently.

The two had visited Paddock CSC Winterblock in Insuza, which was leased to the late national hero.

One suspect has been arrested in connection with the alleged murder case.

According to the police report when Mr Kembo Nkomo and Ncube arrived at the farm on Monday they discovered that the farm workers, were not at the farm. The pair sensed a bad smell coming from a septic tank, which was about two metres away from the farmhouse and about two and a half metres deep.

They opened it and discovered two human bodies which were partially submerged in the septic tank and in an advanced state of decomposition.

The matter was reported at Insuza Police Station on the same day and the police attended the scene.
