Tsholotsho Declaration dismissed

FORMER Tsholotsho district co-ordinating committee chairperson Believe Gaule has said that there was no Tsholotsho Declaration back in 2004.
Gaule who was then fired from the revolutionary party for allegedly inviting members who included the now Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa allegedly as guest of honour at Dinyane High School for a prize-giving ceremony on November 18, 2004 said he was the one who co-ordinated the meeting.
He said he had learnt that VP Mnangagwa who was then Speaker of Parliament had adopted a school in Matabeleland South and wanted him to adopt Dinyane High School as well.
Gaule who was readmitted into Zanu-PF Matabeleland North structures over the weekend said the event was then misinterpreted by people aligned to former VP Joice Mujuru who sought to stop Mnangangwa's ascendancy to the office of VP.
"The agenda was prize and giving ceremony and Mnangagwa was invited in his capacity as the Speaker of Parliament and not as secretary for administration," he said.
Gaule said since it was towards Congress, the good intentions he had for the school and the district were misconstrued as evidenced by his dismisal from Zanu-PF.
Gaule who has been re-admitted after 10 years in the wilderness said he was coming back to the revolutionary party since those behind his suspension were no longer there.
He said he had joined MDC with a heavy heart.
"When the MDC led by Mutambara approached me, I said yes because I wanted to prove a point that I was not a bad person and that the electorate had faith in me," he said.
Gaule said he could not work with MDC-T since their only motive was regime change.
He said he was coming back to work for the revolutionary party and nothing else.
"I'm not eying any position in the party. All I want is to see the development of the party and the country under the leadership of President Mugabe and the team he has chosen to work with," said Gaule.
