A BEITBRIDGE man has been taken to court charged with raping two women from the same village after threatening to kill them.
Trymore Mguni (23) of Makhadho in Masera Village is accused of hitting one of the victims with the back of an axe and also biting the other one on the chest to subdue them.
Mguni was not asked to plead when he appeared before the town's magistrate Mr Owen Tagu charged with three counts of rape. He was remanded in custody to September 22. Charges against Mguni arose on September 4 this year at around 2am, when the suspect was at a party with other villagers in Masera Village.
On his way home, he allegedly decided to pass by the first complainant's homestead, where he entered her bedroom hut through a window.
While inside the house he requested to be intimate with the woman but was turned down. Irked by this, he wrestled the victim and later bit her on the chest and hands as a way to subdue her, it is alleged.
He reportedly raped the woman twice and disappeared. He then went to the next homestead where he reportedly found another woman aged 25 sleeping in her bedroom.
Mguni allegedly kicked the door open and upon entering the house, he requested to be intimate with the woman. He was turned down prompting him to pick up an axe, which was in the room.
It is alleged that Mguni then hit the woman on the back of the head twice and she fell to the ground.
Mguni then allegedly raped the victim once and fled.
The women reported the cases to a member of the neighbourhood watch committee in the village, leading to Mguni's arrest.
