Cyril Ramapgosa's win good for South Africa and beyond the borders.

One can draw comparisons between South Africa and its neighbour across the Limpopo, Zimbabwe .The political winds of change are almost similar,both could have seen a former spouse of current head of state taking over and in Zimbabwe the spouse of the head of state positioning herself for Zimbabwe presidency.
Zanu Pf, through one of its factions, G40, aimed to install Grace Mugabe as her husband,s successor.This could have spelt more doom for Zimbabwe already a basket case due to the ruinous policies brought by Robert Mugabe.
ln South Africa an almost similar scenario in which the incumbent President, Jacob Zuma, wanted his former wife Nkosazana Zuma to take over as ANC President at the Elective Conference .This was more for helping her former husband stay clear off the courts as obviously she would make sure no charges were preferred against Jacob Zuma.
Southern Africa's powerful neighbours could have been brought to worst situations than imagined.
Under Jacob Zuma South Africa's economic fortunes were in a free fall to unprecedented levels :unemployment is getting higher, corruption has become a common feature in various sectors and an Indian family virtually controlling various state institutions through their proxies.
These two Revolutionary parties could have kissed power goodbye come the next elections. ANC knows this stark reality having seen the outcome of last local government elections were their numbers dropped .
Zimbabwe's new President, ED Munangagwa ,has said Zimbabwe in terms of development is 40 years behind. He wants to see a change in the country, if it is not just rhetoric talk. Cyril Ramaphosa has potential to change South Africa's economic fortunes to greater levels. The rand which fell under Zuma against the US dollar has gained since it became certain Cyril CR 17 Ramaphosa would take over ANC and eventually as the country's leader.
This would never have happened with two women leaders had they been allowed to get away with it, Grace Gucci Mugabe and Nkosazana Dhlamini-Zuma.
