Tsvangirai and the multitudes in the big tent

17 Dec 2014 at 13:45hrs | Views
The mass mobilisation drive initiated by the MDC-T South Africa Province Organising secretary Trust Ndlovu seems to be bearing fruits. Hundreds of people congregated in various places around South Africa to bid farewell to the year 2014. In all gatherings, the message of love and unity of purpose remained key.

In the Western Cape, Organising secretary Douglas Chiganze and his deputy, Eliah Marume visited the entire political district joining fellow comrades and encouraging them to remain resolute and faithful to the cause of a democratic Zimbabwe. Gracing the various gathered branches were the provincial leaders Bonnie Pakai, Masimba Paradza, Albert Zinhanga, Innocent Nsigo, Vickson Mundia, Tinashe Chifamba and Machiwenyika Chiunda among others. The absence of Chairman Dr. Tyanai Masiya who is on vacation in Zimbabwe did not dampen the mood, as the youth leadership led by Youth Chairman Brighton and Organiser Beulah did not disappoint.

Due to the vast geographical spread of the political province, key provincial leaders addressed the various branches using skype and the theme message was disseminated using various platforms sorely domiciled on President Tsvangirai's vision - "As we go back to Zimbabwe over the festive period, let us remain faithful to our dream and vision for a New and democratic Zimbabwe where there shall be EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL. Let us go home and be with our families, regroup and confront the dictator in earnest in the coming year.  As we feast, meet family members, friends, and acquaintances; let us have a positive influence so that we rub our yeaning for change upon them. We should never take our eyes off the ball but the same conviction that made us abandon Mugabe must equally lead us as we recruit more to the democratic cause."

A celebration whose only explanation is only in superlatives, a tag and claim increasingly becoming more and more associated with Pretoria engulfed the entire Olivenhoutsboutsh. Predominantly led by the Youth Assembly Chairman Pound Sambo, a young man who spoke with the glow of a higher office bear with the assistance of his able team comprising Gift Machaka, William Jonga, Prosper Ndambi to mention but just a few. Speaking at the same event, Organiser Precious Mutete acknowledged the unity prevailing in the district and the great strides made in recruitment. Chairman Tangai Marufu thanked the provincial leaders resident in the district for their sterling work in building the party. "I want to encourage those who are making us proud and equally want to call to order some malcontents who are tarnishing the name of our district. We deployed you to province to listen and work for the people - please do not embarrass us. In the same breadth, I commend Organiser Precious who is arguably the best in our province, since she took office less than fifty day ago she has done more than some of our former organisers did in more than five years. Those travelling to Zimbabwe, take the message of EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL to the people. Let me equally congratulate our Pretorians who have been seconded to the National leadership of the Youth Assembly, Talent Chingovo and the workaholic Vimbai Mavherudze."

The crescendo of the day was in Johannesburg District where Tembisa Branch hosted the provincial Organising Secretary Trust Ndlovu who arrived at the venue with popular revolutionary musician Dread Rekless in tow. The "Saddam Waenda Sare Bhobho "musician gave some lyrics from a few of his yesteryear greats  to the delight of the political faithfulls. Present was Chairman George Mpande with his full executive of Prof.  Richard Simango,Paul Ndlovu, Kaizer Mlala, Msizi Nkala,Freedom Dube, Sipho Ncumalo, Munoda masara,Lovemore Sibanda and the Chairlady Thokozile Ndlovu among others. The district leadership was represented by Rita Chavalala, Chairperson of the Women's Assembly. The District leadership of Chairman Mncedisi Bhebhe, Organiser Bongani Mathe and Secretary Milton Matshazi among others visited a diverse number of branches encouraging fellow comrades.

Several activities were held in Mpumalanga, North West, Freestate, KwaZulu Natal and Eastern Cape but because of the festive break, the details could not be ascertained by the time of going to press. The stammer of Chairman Rodrick Chimombe in Eastern Cape, continued request to wait of Chairman Shingirai Clement Mangena in North West, the unreacheable phone of Chairman Munyaradzi Chidarikire of Mpumalanga who is in Zimbabwe and the inaudible phone of Chairman Patrick Mubaiwa all could not save the day. The only cause of joy being Joel Marere of Durban, Edward Mutondo twin-packed with Oscar Madanhi of Eastern Cape and Chairman Stanly Mutambiranwa of Freestate all confirming a great festive season in progress. All this tallying with the prediction made by the quartet of Webster Mari Matutu, Sibongile Nkomo, Nokhuthula Gumbo and Sithatshisiwe Dube of a great year defying the odds of Chairman Emmanuel Banda,  Sharon Tashaya,  Gift Moyo, Chairlady Lovejoy Natalie Tembo and Ethel Ndlovu - all in the name of celebrating our comrades and giving EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL and not leaving out Misheck Marowa, Mfundo Gabheni Sibanda, Adolf Jamela, Abias Makhadho, Thando Ncube and Zack Njagu among others.

The hive of activity continued across South Africa and it seems the festive season is in full swing. Addressing all district structures, Organiser Trust Ndlovu pleaded for unity, "Dear comrades, I beseech you n the name of President Tsvangirai to remain focussed and united. I declare a festive break from all official executive meetings till the festive period is over. People can still meet and socialise strategise and plan for the coming year but no executive decisions during this period since some will be on recess visiting out of the country.  However on very serious, I repeat very serious issues my office will decide on merit. I do not want anyone to be prejudiced by unscrupulous decisions made during this break. The spirit of love as per the vision of our President Dr. Tsvangirai should lead and EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL must be our nonnegotiable charter and pledge."

President Tsvangirai Wishes You a Merry Christmas!

And A happy New Year!

Compliments of the season!
