A small Golden Town denied by the current govt

When they say, "Dynamites comes in small packages," they mean it. Asking questions is just like a waste of precious time. Its a small remote area in western part of the Mafungabusi plateau, namely Gokwe.

It is a small town surrounded by heavily rich alluvial soils which is good for horticulture. Alluvial products such as Coal is also mined at Sengwa mine not far from Gokwe Centre. Among other products produced are Cotton, Maize, Sorghum, Millet etc

With the coal mined at Sengwa mine, Gokwe could be having its own Thermal Power plant to help the struggling Kariba and Hwange power stations but, trucks queue for carrying that coal away from Gokwe, to where? Nobody knows. With this ridiculous move, Gokwe remains a dark city due to un-timetabled power cuts.

Some years back, families were evicted from Chiyadzwa diamond area for the extraction of the precious mineral. I don't think even the roads to Chiyadzwa were upgraded to mention the least. Money from Chiyadzwa was carried away to develop Harare and other far away areas.

Cotton is produced in Gokwe, sold in Gokwe and ginned in Gokwe but in turn, farmers what they can afford is to buy second hand clothes and Chinese cheap sandals. Their farm produce is sold at controversial prices.

The govt authorities should think of people first before anything, if they cant why should they remain in power. A new gvt will solve this pandemic of dishonesty, injustice and so on. When we have resources, we want to benefit from them.
